What is meant by aviation?
Aviation means the flying of air craft or it is a N operation that involved flying of air craft. The word aviation originates from the Latin word avis which means bird. So the term aviation includes the flying by air means involved plane. the passage of time people prefer flying more than ever and it is taken as a safest mode of transport. But like any other field aviation needs to be learn.
What is learning?
From experience and practice the change which occur is known to be as learning.
Its also can be defined as the desired change in behavior. The learning is life long process that occur from experience and practice. The instructor knows how to impart and imply change in the cognition of pupil. Learning is a complex process which includes the learner learning situation and learning material that how it should be impart effectively.
Characteristics of learning
It should be purposeful
It should be multifaceted
It should be result of experience
It should be an active process

First rule for aviation
The first and foremost rule in training of a pilot is to set priorities and these priorities should be followed in his whole career. The rule is first of all aviate then navigate and after navigation communicate. But the first priority is to fly the plane first.

Learning theories:
The learning theories depends that how people get skills, attitude and knowledge. There are four basic learning theories.
Behaviorism
Cognitive
Constructivism
Information processing theory
Behaviorism:
This theory explain that behavior of the human and animals are predictable and measure able. This theory focuses on the behavior of human and how that can be changed into desirable one. It is used to break unwanted behaviors.
Cognitive:
This theory focuses on what is going on inside the mind. Its not about only learning or gaining specific change it also focuses on the way in which the learner learns. It focuses on the thinking skills, understanding how he is perceiving the information and its comprehension.
Constructivism:
This theory is derived from cognitive theory as this theory also focuses on how learner is perceiving the information and on the whole what he gets. This theory construct a learner centered learning.
Information processing theory:
In this theory a computer is used as a model to learner. Information is given through the computer he gets the information process it store the information and after that retrieve the information when it is needed.
What is higher order thinking skill:
In the process of learning the constructivist focuses on the higher order thinking skill. This skill is called aeronautical decision making in aviation.
The higher order thinking skills are taught like any other skill from simple to complex, concrete to abstract. While applying this skill methods and different strategies are needed which are as follows:
Instruction should be problem based learning
Problem should be authentic
It should be real world problem
The learning should be learner centered
Learning should be active
There should be cooperate learning
To meet the needs of individuals there should be customized learning.
This should ne kept in mind that on critical thinking the focus should be on subject matter. The knowledge impart should be from simple to complex. For example when you are telling the student about the weight if craft in space or in real world he or she must have known how about the center of gravity.
In initial pilot training higher order thinking skill is very important.
There is need that the students are taught the cognitive skills in problem solving technique until it become automated and transferable.
Scenario based training:
Scenario based training is the type of training in which real world scripted structure is used which is close to the flight environment. This should include initial flight training. Simulation is such scenario which includes real world time difficulties and the pilot have to take decisions like in real time world. The scenario should always planned and this type of training is planned set up which is led by the learner and the issues are of real world and learner have to decide in real world scenario.
Laws for learning of aviation:
In the learning of aviation the laws which are applicable and effective are Thorndike’s laws of learning. These laws are effective for every type of learning.
The laws of learning include:
Readiness
Exercise
Effect
Primacy
Intensity
Recency
Readiness
The learners learn well when he is ready to learn when he knows the importance Of the learning and take interest in it. If learner has clear objective and purpose then the learning process become more effective. The learning process become more effective when the learner knows the reason and purpose of learning they took it more seriously and take interest they become curious to know what is next and eager to complete task.
Exercise:
The learners need to get practice what he has learn and when they practice it they strengthen the connection and discontinuity of practice weakens the memory. So exercising the learned behavior is important. The exercise of skill is very important as it make learner more confident and when he practice it become more meaningful.
Effect:
When the learner feel good about the learning then automatically the learning process become more pleasant. But in other case learning process become unpleasant when it is implied forcefully or the learner has no interest. The learning process become ineffective in that sense so there should be no force in learning process. For example a child love to write then he love to write in different writing styles his writing improves day by day on the other hand if the child is not interested in writing then it become unpleasant there is need to improve the method and learning environment.
Primacy:
There is saying first impression is the last impression. In primacy there is need that initial learning of the learner must be Correct. The initial learning makes the base of the learner so it must be correct. If you have taught a lesson in isolation and demanded to perform collectively that would not be correct way for correction you have to perform it in collectively first then demand from the learner. Dramatic, exciting, immediate learning is ap Intensity:
plied to the real world experience then its add the beauty and excitement even to the boring work. Learners are interested in visual or exciting scenario and when they found it in their learning then the learner feels excitement in completing it.
Recency:
The Recency have the principle that the when a learner learns something recent he will remember it. The things that learner had recently learned are best remembered. In this process the instructor repeat restate or reemphasized then he give some key points related to the topics so that he may remembered it late.
Conclusion:
Learning theories has helped in changing the skills of the instructor. Instructor was able to apply these laws to make learning a useful and memorable journey. In imparting the aviation learning only one theory or law is not enough. There should be combination of different learning theories to make aviation learning more effective and meaningful.
